Last days in Az

AZCOM-med school graduation. With Dave's parents.
Yes, folks he is a doctor now... scary stuff.

Last time with the Mortensen's. We miss them and wish that we could see their cute new baby boy.Betrothed and we totally made them hold hands in this picture!Graduation dinner at Pizzeria Bianco. Tasty, it is Oprah's favorite pizzeria in the country. Are you sick of my green shirt yet?

The night before graduation, Dave's school put on a dinner party. Here we are with our ward/school friends. With the Mort's againMoving day=pure torture. I never want to move across the country again, or anywhere else for that matter , it was so miserable. Thankfully some of Dave's friends helped us move. Matt worked wonders on getting everything to fit in and what a friend, Dave was looking for something to stand on and Matt just bends right down and boosted Dave up in true cheerleader style!
Saying our goodbyes at the Mathie's house. Matt (showing his love for Dave), Dave and Morgan.Jack (on the couch) totally not as comfortable as his dad with the displays of affection for other men. Max gave Luke a nice big hug though.Baby London giving Luke some goodbye loves.

Sarah, me and Lindsay
Goodbye forever Arizona!

Miss me?

Well we made it to Hershey but the computer is not doing so hot. It did not appreciate that move so therefore no blogging or pics. So sad. It has actually been really nice not having the option of wasting time on the computer and I have so many pictures I am a little overwhelmed but I really like the comments on the blog especially from amy and camilla!

Hershey life has been oh so good! We are seriously loving it here. I get sad thinking about ever moving. Sometimes you really need a change and this was a really good one. It is so pretty I keep telling dave it makes my stomach hurt and yesterday we went to this awesome lake hidden up the mountain in little lakeside town...it totally brought tears to my eyes. We are such losers but we are in heaven here. The ward is great and 10 new families moved in the same time as us for residency.

Luke is not taking well to the new activities, playgroups and nursery though. He is has turned into mr. anti-social and just buries his head and says "go nighties." Poor guy. He is getting better though and has some new friends. His vocab has also increased since we got here fun new words like horse and buggy, farm, cornfields and duck pond. Obviously it is very country here.

Dave is really liking the program and getting these things called 'paychecks?' What? It is a new thing for us, it's not much but we are liking it. He says that he loses track of how many hours he works per week after he hits the 90 hour mark though!

We are really happy about this move and loving having summers back and HERSHEY IS A GEM!

It's official. We are hitting the road, Jack.

We packed up one ginormous truck and we are heading out for a week long road trip to PA with some fun stops along the way.

I wish that I could post some of the pictures of graduation, the fun that we had while Dave's parents were in town, or of the best friends ever that helped us move but I am sitting on the floor in our empty house and can barely keep one eye open.

So it will have to wait.

This moving across the country thing is a killer. Wish us luck.

Here we come Hershey... you better be as dreamy as Dave made you out to be!

Dressing up with attitude

Two and a half is becoming one of my favorite ages. The non-stop tantrums have dwindled and the imaginitive play is setting in. I am loving how much Luke likes to play dress-ups these days (Dave does not like when call it dress-ups, what else do you call it though?)

Luke lately

Life has been pretty random and chaotic lately with packing, selling our house, and the big M-O-V-E, so here are some very random and chaotic pictures of Mr. L.

A lot of Luke's toys are packed up so he finds some pretty creative things to do.

Up to no good with a jar of sprinkles and paints below. Love it.

Posing with his cutey bf Jamie at the Rainforest Cafe.

Doing his chores below. (Thanks for the idea Jamie).

Dave was trying to take a pic of his car to sell on craigslist and Luke was really confused that for once in his life he was not the star of the show so he decided to sneak in. (I hate when kids are in the craigslist pictures. Tacky.)
Anyway, Dave would like me to inform everyone that he sold this beaut of a car for $100 more than what he bought it for 3 1/2 years ago. He is so proud!

Contemplating the move. "Hmm, I wonder if the Hershey kids are going to like me or not?"

Our boxes are beautifully decorated with markers, stickers and paint thanks to Luke. Whatever keeps them busy is what I say.

Cruising around on the slip and slide.

Weekly trips to the splash park.

Last but not least
Dave's favorite ... the "Abercrombie shot."
Why Luke insists on wearing a bib when he is naked is a mystery to me!

Dave is a winner

Did I mention that it is Dave's last day of medical school?! Heaven.

First day- August 2005, with buddy Mike Mortensen. Young, naive, childless.

Last day-May 2009. Older, wiser, with child.

Hooray! You can thank the Owen family for the tradition of jumping off of things on special occasions pictures. Good job Dahveed!

Only a boy would turn their mother's glue gun into super powerful laser gun. Luke had quite the little grin on his face when I pulled it out to glue his pirate hat together. "What dat
mama?" It's a glue gun. "Gun. Oh. Hmm." Next thing I knew he had lasered everything in sight.

Mothers Day 2009

I must say it was quite a good Mothers Day this year, filled with: sleeping in, baked french toast, 2 boys doting on me, homemade pizza's from the recipe of pizzeria Bianco, and a surprise blog book (below) that Dave put together. You just send the blog to blurb.com and they mail you a book filled with pics from your blog. So much better for me than scrap booking and albums. Sorry to get cheesy but I really do love being a mom and staying home with Luke. He is such a funny, unique, sweet little guy. I am so happy to be able to be a mom. I don't know how we lived without him (well actually sometimes I do know how) but I can't get enough of him and I feel so complete and happy when it is the three of us together. Motherhood is a million times harder/ more frustrating than I imagined but it is also one million and one times more fulfilling than you could imagine. I am always amazed at all of the great moms in this world. Props to moms everywhere!

Senior pictures

Lucas D. came prancing in the room one day with Dave's graduation cap and gown on. I thought it was so funny, so I whipped out the camera for a little photo shoot.

Here is Luke's favorite pose. Anytime I hold up the camera he sticks that tongue out.

This one is my favorite. He is getting so sick of me. I am thinking that I will put this one in his high school yearbook one day when he is a senior!

Laughing at his dad.

Making hooting owl sounds for some reason.

SAY WHAT!?!
Making this face after I told him if he wants to be a doctor like his dad someday he just has about 25 years left of school. Ha.

What's for dinner

Dinner last night consisted of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and smoothies in the backyard... and I didn't hear one complaint.

Perfect pearly whites

This little dude just got back from his first dentist appointment, which will not interest anyone but me and possibly his dentist uncles.
Outcome: excellent, cavity-free, plenty of space for permanent teeth, and one chipped front tooth.
Best of all Luke loved every minute of it! He was secretly smiling the whole time. He loved the dentist (who looked more like an NBA player than a dentist), the movie playing, the chair that reminded him of the Disneyland rides, the toy at the end, all of the high fiving and he even enjoyed the teeth cleaning strangely enough. Good boy Luke, you can add excellent dental patient to your resume.

Grandma came to town

My mom and Luke's Ma came to visit. It was so fun having her. Luke only cried twice. Once when we left the hotel and he other time was when he woke up in the car and looked over to see that my mom was gone. We dropped her off at the airport while he napped in the car. He was so sad! We have missed you lots! Thanks for everything. Thanks for...
cuddling Luke
the super cool rubber snake that Luke brings everywhere
the fun night stay at the Wigwam
cleaning our house from top to bottom for the last minute open house and numerous random showings
treating us to some scrumptious meals
swimming at the Wigwam
and being such a fun Grandma!
