The big campout!

Dave and Luke went on the father/son campout with our ward. Dave said that Luke loved every second of it! He said that he was running around being so busy and when it started getting dark, they went in the tent to go to sleep and Luke got a little concerned. But, I guess he slept fine and kept peeking up and smiling at Sam (Luke's cousin) all night. P.S. Sam and Micah joined them.

Look at that grimy face!

Swimming with the Mort's

Hip hip hooray! The Mortensen's neighborhood pool is built and ready for swimmers. This is our new home for the next while.
Cute pose Micah.
I am pleasantly surprised that Luke doesn't mind going under the water.

Our week of many uh-oh's

After we got home from San Diego, I felt like there was one disaster after another waiting for us! Luke says uh -oh a million times a day but the past week it was every second. Nothing catastrophic of course but it seemed like for every mess I was cleaning up I would finish to find a new one! I am sure everyone knows what this feels like, some weeks I just can't keep up. This uh-oh occurred over several days. Those pretty little shells that we found on the beach were very deceptive. I kept smelling a lingering odor so I checked Luke's diaper over and over, ran the garbage disposal, cleaned the fridge, kept taking all the garbage's out, only to find that the seashells were smelling up the place! It was so gross, I think one was a clam. I ditched the clam and put the others in a bucket of Clorox for a few days. Good tip for the seashell collector's.

If it get suddenly quiet in our house we know that we have left the office door open. This guilty looking boy loves to climb up on the desk and press and the buttons on and off on the computer and ipod. No broken gadgets just some scratches.
While cleaning up the rice that I scorched, Luke got hungry and went dumpster diving. He found a 2 day old yogurt that he decided to finish off...and I was standing next to him the whole time! Poor child with a terrible mother! Yep, my mom would be proud! The laundry that piled up on the guest bed. What it was a busy few weeks?!
This is not an uh-oh but I just think that it is cute! Some more uh-oh's include: going #2 in the tub (Luke)-always a favorite, pen all over our light tan couch, the scorched rice that led to a clogged sink, that led to a dishwasher malfunction, that led to a flood in our kitchen at 11pm. My favorite Mac cream blush spread all over the carpet and white sheets, and last but certainly not least looking over at playgroup to see Luke holding a huge handful of dog poop! mmmm But even after all of that fun and germiness I still can't get enough of him!

San Diego

Every year my stepdad (ex-step-dad...confusing), Kevin has people come out to San Diego to remember/celebrate my stepbrother Marshall's birthday. He passed away a few years ago and is my age, so he would be turning 26. I think that it is nice for Kevin to be with people at this time. Everyone had a great time and Kevin is beyond a great host. We got to go to the beach, have a fun party, and go to some padre's games. Where is Luke? No, seriously I couldn't find him for awhile. Peek-a-boo!
It is such an easy 5 hour drive to San D.
We went straight to the beach. Luke loved the sand and after a while he realized that there was water and beelined it to the ocean! Dave had to sprint after him. He just kept wandering in deeper and deeper. The water felt like ice but he wouldn't get out. One wave even went over his head and we thought he was crying but sure enough he was laughing really hard!

We heart Coronado Island! These are some dream homes right on the beach.

The view from Kevin's wasn't too shabby either! It was on the beach and overlooked San Diego. Dreammy. When can we move in?

The siblings.

Padres game

How did I forget these ones. The highlight of Dave's trip was this Padre's game. Front row baby and we had to shield Luke's head from the baseball being hit our way. Luke was such a trooper, it was way past his bedtime and after our road trip but he loved it anyway.

Vranes, la coppia di Arese

Here is another funny one that we found of my dad. This is from when he played in Italy. The next one is shorter and way funnier but Nate and I make a nice cameo in this one and I am sporting a super cute perm with a leggings and vest ensemble. Love the music!!

My dad's Ivory soap commercial

I totally forgot about this but Dave found my dad's funny Ivory soap commercial from the eighties... love the shorts and the hair flipping in the shower. This is a keeper!

Easter fun

(our computer is being so weird...all of these pictures are in a very random order) We had the Mortensen's over for a nice Easter dinner in the backyard. Luke, Ella and Sam decided to play in the water in the middle of our Easter dinner.
Naked Easter egg hunt after playing in the water.

Luke's solo hunt after church.

What is this doing again and how do I get it off?!

Dave's school had a fun Easter party on Saturday with the Easter bunny. Jack and Luke bouncing around.
Playing with the spray ball on Saturday after his Easter parties.
Easter morning. He likes his new little chair and brings it everywhere. We catch him sitting on it outside reading books. Note the "Easter bunny pellets" (raisins) that Dave set out.

Ward Easter party
Luke didn't really like the Easter bunny but Dave kept putting his arm around it and later found out it was a girl.

Luke's new favorite toy

...he also hits everything is sight.
